  18. It is possible to use section headings as {#links to other pages and as
  19. destination anchors#terminol.html#ANCHOR#} for links. A linked heading will
  20. appear in the table of contents but {*not*} in the document itself. An anchored
  21. heading allows you to link to a particular section from within the {#same
  22. page##ANCHOR#} or from another document. In either case, the syntax is similar to
  23. embedded hypertext links and anchors.

  27. To link a heading, add a pound sign (#) and a {#relative or complete
  28. URL#terminol.html#URL#} after the heading text:

  32. This link will appear in the table of contents at the top of the document. It
  33. will {*not*} appear as a section heading in the body of the document.

  39. To use a heading as an anchor, add a pound sign (#), an equal sign (=), and a
  40. unique name for the anchor:

  44. The heading text will appear as a section heading and in the table of contents as
  45. it normally would. To link directly to the heading, create a link of the form:

  49. Note that anchor names are case sensitive ("ANCHOR" does not equal "anchor").
